Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare industry and help people.

I first worked in accounts receivable for a major drug wholesaler, but I’m a people person and I wanted to be out there making a difference. So I went to work for an independent pharmacy and quickly got my certification as a pharmacy technician.

I loved the interaction with my patients and the satisfaction of making an impact in the health and well being of their lives.

October 16th is Pharmacy Technician Day. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been a CPhT. for over 15 years now and in the process have explored different modalities of healing and wellness.

When I found Feng Shui, I never realized how much the two go hand in hand and can actually assist each other.

Pharmacy tries to bring balance to the body through chemistry of medication whereas Feng Shui works on bringing balance from the inside and having that reflecting in our environment.

We are now in the Autumn season and with that we naturally begin our innate shedding and releasing of things that we no longer need or just isn’t serving us any longer.

According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of release is: “allow or enable to escape from confinement; set free.” But before we focus on releasing, we need to understand and realize why the tension, pain, or restriction is there in the first place.

For me, this past year has been full of ups, downs, fun times, exciting times and some sadness as well. Now that I’m on the other side of 50, I’ve been noticing many things that I want to adjust in my life so that I’m as healthy and active as possible so I can continue doing awesome and amazing things. 😉

Beginning with paring down my wardrobe.

Now this isn’t an easy task for me because I have many clothes for different activities. I wear scrubs to work at the pharmacy, I have ceremonial regalia for performing and ceremony, then there is my section of “professional” wear, Gong Diva attire and jeans and t-shirts. Wow, that’s a lot of clothes!

So, my challenge to myself and also to you, is to go into your closet and pull out 10 items  (😲) that you haven’t worn or used in the last year.

Before you start sweating this ( because I am a little 😉) just think about the extra space in your closet that will create space for something else equally if not more wonderful than what you are letting go of.

As I write this, I’m thinking of this one blouse that I have (for 3 years now!) it’s new, beautiful and I loved it when I originally bought it, but now it’s been just taking up space in my closet and in my head since I’ve chastised myself for spending the money and not wearing it somewhere fabulous. Ugh!

But, that’s what fall is all about. Releasing not only things, but also thought patterns and routines.

When we do this we accomplish the following:

-Eliminate stress

-Drop anxiety & depression

-Experience amazing (and often unexpected) financial gains

-Have more love in our relationships

-Experience radiant health & wellness

Now I’m off to my closet to get rid of that shirt, some jeans and several pairs of shoes to make space for lots more awesomeness in my life! What a great way to celebrate Pharmacy Technician Day! 😉
